Raw Food Health

Follow A Raw Food Diet For
Weight Loss, Health & Anti Aging

Here we're going to look at raw food health not only from a weight loss perspective, but from an anti aging perspective too.  But even if you don't need to lose weight, there is a difference between just looking thin and looking thin, young and healthy.

If you're serious about looking younger than your years, then you need to follow a raw food diet for weight loss and/or anti aging.

What you eat does affect how your body looks and feels, therefore you need to catch up with the signs that your body has been giving you for a long time.

Everything in your body is dependant on what you put into it - are you tired and sluggish in the afternoons?

This will be dependant on whether you had a calorie laden cheese sandwich or a yummy crispy salad for lunch.

Let Me Be Blunt...

If you're serious about being slim, firm and supple and you want your cells to grow younger, then you need to follow a raw food health diet.  I know this sounds extreme, but let me explain why first and then how you can incorporate this into your daily eating plan.

Normally we largely eat hot cooked food, or eat very cold foods such as ice cream or chilled drinks.  Well, these are both extreme temperatures which actually damages the inside of our body as the enzymes in your stomach are destroyed by hot/cold foods and beverages.

Think of it this way, severe weather such as the hot sun and cold freezing snowy temperatures, damages the unprotected parts of our body and face.  That's why we wrap up in the winter and put sunscreen on in the summer, to protect our skin.

Well, it's exactly the same on the inside of our body in that it cannot handle the different extreme temperatures being poured into it.  So what does this mean?

How Cooked Food Is Harmful

It means that because the enzymes are being damaged by hot food, the nutrients from the food (if there are any left after it has been cooked to death) cannot be extracted from the digestive tract.  This means that you will begin to be deficient in nutrients.

One of the main reactions in our body is that there is a significant increase in white blood cells every time we eat cooked food.  This makes us more acidic than alkaline which is not good, especially if you want to lose weight.  Our body reacts to cooked food as it would to an infection or a toxin, but it never reacts this way to raw food.

Cooking destroys enzymes, vitamins and minerals.  This can lead to free radical formation, the blocking of basement membranes and poor absorption of nutrients. We know that free radicals attack our cells and destroy them, leaving us with dull, saggy, wrinkled skin.

The Raw Food Diet Plan

Please note, don't make any radical changes in your diet if you suffer with any medical problem without first consulting your GP or consultant.

First let me put your mind at rest in that I do understand that changing to an all raw diet is too much for most of us, but if you can aim for half of your food being raw you will still experience amazing changes.

If you really want to go for it, start each meal with raw food and at least 80% of your food being raw.

I don't expect you to start eating raw broccoli or cauliflower by the handful, so let let me show you a few simple ways to incorporate raw food into your daily diet.

  1. Have a raw food breakfast (fruit smoothie or fruit salad);
  2. Have a raw food breakfast and lunch (smoothie, fruit salad or veg salad);
  3. Aim for one or two full raw days;
  4. Avoid damaging animal fats such as meat and dairy fat (i.e. margarine);
  5. Cut out or severely down on bread, even wholemeal;
  6. Cut out all sugar and flour products;
  7. Stop smoking and limit alcohol.

What You Should Eat

Salads:

Think of color!  Eat plenty of colorful fruits and vegetables.  Eat salads with leafy green lettuce leaves and dark green spinach leaves together with red, green and yellow peppers, grated carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes and olives.

Fruit Salads:

Again think color.  Fill your bowl with raspberries, strawberries, black & white grapes, diced mango, melon, grapefruit, banana, kiwi.  Any fruit you can think of and what you enjoy, put them all together in a bowl

Fruit Smoothies

Try fruit smoothies by blending your favorite fruits together,  My favorite is raspberry smoothie.  I use a little filtered water, two heaps spoons of whey powder and a cup full of raspberries.

Green Smoothies

Eat your other vegetables by blending them together, such as your broccoli, spinach, cabbage, avocado.  Anything goes, test and try.
