Sun damage skin comes in many different forms, discoloration, large pores, blotchiness, fine lines, wrinkles etc.. Skin sun damage can only happen if you do not use a sunscreen during the hot summer months. It can be totally avoidable, but if you do have damage to your skin, can it be reversed?
Let's take a look at exactly how the skin damages your skin, how lines and wrinkles are formed because of the sun, and if it can be reversed back to it's normal state.
Exposure to environmental pollutants brings about free radical damage which causes a decline in cellular activity. This triggers the slowing down of the reproduction process in the skin as well as the hardening and bunching together of the skin's supportive collagen which makes it prone to wrinkling and sagging contours.
This free radical damage is most rapidly brought about by Ultra-Violet light
If you expose your skin to the sun on a continuous basis, then you will eventually get sun damaged skin. However, you also need to be aware of ultravoilet light as these rays are invisible and can penetrate through clouds, so any unprotected skin will be in danger of sunburn.
The sun damages skin and causes wrinkles by the UV rays damaging the collagen fibres in the skin. The more unprotected skin is exposed to sun rays, the more the collagen fibres are damaged. This eventually leads of fine lines and wrinkles.
The Sun and Free Radical Damage
In addition to direct exposure to the sun rays, wrinkles can also form when free radicals are present in the skin cells. There are many ways in which free radicals form, but the sun is one component in which it helps free radicals form within cell tissues.
Therefore it is imperative that you cover yourself up and use a sun block cream when you are outdoors in the sun. If you really want to look after the health of your skin and slow down the process of wrinkles, then please take note of how damaging the sun can be in relation to this.
However, please note that your skin does require a little exposure to the sun as the sun enables the skin to produce Vitamin D. This vitamin is important as it is needed for phosphate and calcium to be absorbed properly.
There are a few treatments which can help repair the skin back to it's normal state. Basically what you are looking to do is to is to resurface the skin by shedding the damaged skin layers and renewing them with new healthy skin cells.
The collagen and elastin need to be penetrated and stimulated to an extent where the old skin cells shed and the new ones come through. There are a number of ways of rejuvenating the skin this way:
Microdermabrasion
You can
go to a clinic and pay to have microdermabrasion or you can buy a
kit and do it yourself at home. Microdermabrasion is when your
skin is sprayed with tiny crystal balls and then cleverly vacuums
the balls back up again.
The crystals remove your dead skin cells and the top layer of your skin which makes way for the new skin cells to come through. [More information...]
Dry Skin Brushing
This is that dissimilar to microdermabrasion as basically
you use an electric brush to run over your dry skin. This
helps stimulate the circulation and collagen within the skin cells
and new skin cells become visible in a shorter period of time.

Skin Needling
Skin needling is when you use a micro roller to roll over
your skin. The roller consists of dozens of tiny micro needles
which puncture the top layer of your skin which forces collagen to
work harder and produce new skin cells at a faster rate. [More

These are just three ways which can help treat sun damaged skin. Remember that what you're looking to do is to shed the damaged skin layers and renew them with new skin cells. If you want further advice I suggest going to your local beauty clinic and having a word with a trained beautician or even a dermatologist.
